Overview
Esperance has solid accommodation for its size. Caravan parks, holiday units, motels and a handful of B&Bs. The town is small enough that everything is within a few minutes' drive of the beach and shops. Book ahead in September–October (wildflower season) and January (school holidays). Outside these peaks, walk-in availability is fine.
Caravan Parks and Camping
The Esperance Bay Holiday Park is the largest and closest to the town beach, with powered and unpowered sites, cabins and camp kitchen. Woody Island (offshore. Ferry from town) offers wilderness camping with basic facilities in a stunning setting. No camping inside Cape Le Grand National Park at Lucky Bay. Campsite bookings through Parks Direct are essential and fill quickly in season.
Self-Contained Apartments and Holiday Units
The bulk of visitor accommodation is self-contained. Well suited to the destination since most visitors are cooking for themselves between long days at the beach. Bay of Isles Resort, Hospitality Esperance and several smaller complexes offer kitchen-equipped units from around A$150 per night. The Jetty Resort on the Esplanade has the best town-centre position.
Hotels and Motels
The Comfort Inn & Suites Esperance is the main hotel option. The Esperance Chalet Village offers self-contained chalets within walking distance of the beach. The Hospitality Esperance Sundowner Motel is reliable and well-priced for longer stays.
Budget
The Esperance Backpackers offers dorm beds from around A$35, and several caravan parks have budget cabin options from A$80.
