Ningaloo is a region, not a town. The accommodation decision is mainly between Exmouth, Coral Bay, booked Cape Range National Park camping and more remote Ningaloo Coast stays. Pick the base before the property. Otherwise, you can book a room that is a long drive from the beach, tour departure or campground you actually want.

Central Exmouth or Coral Bay can work if airport transfer and tour collection are confirmed before payment.
Camping
Use only a designated, currently open campground. Facilities, booking-release rules and vehicle access differ across Cape Range and the wider coast.

Airport and tour-departure implications
Learmonth Airport serves the Exmouth and Coral Bay area. The Shire of Exmouth advises that airport transfers, taxis and hire vehicles should be arranged in advance because operators do not necessarily meet every flight. Coral Bay transfers take longer than transfers to Exmouth.
Tour departure points are not interchangeable. Confirm the operator, check-in location, collection zone and start time before choosing accommodation.
Legal camping and current access checks
DBCA permits camping only in designated campgrounds. Bookings are essential for the relevant Ningaloo Coast and Cape Range sites, and facilities can be very basic. Some remote campgrounds require visitors to be fully self-sufficient.
At the 13 August 2026 check, DBCA still listed cyclone-related closures and rebuilding work across parts of the Ningaloo Coast. Treat any named campground as a planning lead, not proof that it is open for your dates.
