Kalbarri’s accommodation decision is mainly between the riverfront and town centre, quieter streets behind the foreshore, and the Red Bluff side of town. There is no accommodation inside Kalbarri National Park, so every visitor drives from town to the inland gorges and coastal lookouts.

Families
Choose a self-contained unit or holiday park after checking separate beds, kitchen equipment, laundry and safe parking.
Gorge-focused visits
Town and riverfront are practical. Start early because the inland gorges can be much hotter than the town.
Coastal-cliff visits
Red Bluff and southern Kalbarri shorten access to the coastal section, while river activities remain a drive away.
Trailers and boats
Ask about off-street space, turning room and whether an extra trailer or second vehicle is allowed.
National park and coastal access
DBCA states that Kalbarri National Park has no camping or other accommodation. Park entry fees apply, pets are not allowed, and road or trail conditions should be checked before departure.
The inland gorge can be considerably hotter than Kalbarri town and drinking water is not supplied in the park. Accommodation air-conditioning, an early start and carrying enough water are practical booking and day-planning considerations.
Booking patterns, parking and trailers
Demand often tightens around school holidays, Easter and the wildflower travel period. State this as a planning pattern, not a promise of current availability.
For caravans, boats and long trailers, confirm the whole setup length and whether the booking includes space for an extra vehicle. Do not assume a standard car bay will work.
